Confidence for change course

Current Services

We offer a warm welcome on all our courses, sessions and workshops. All of our work is based on the coaching model of learning and development, so different from therapeutic approaches or counselling. 

 

Our aim is for you to leave our sessions more confident, resilient and motivated to move closer to your goals for example; finding work, volunteering, improving mental health and better relationships. All are delivered by one of our experienced coaches and you'll receive a warm welcome and a safe space to learn.

 

All our work is evaluated (WEMWBS, developed by Warwick and Edinburgh Universities). Evaluating the impact of our services helps us improve them.

 

Courses online and in-person

Confidence for Change is the course that underpins all our work. All of our sessions are for personal development and help build a sustained step-by-step way of increasing self-confidence. 

 

We can also help you take your next step towards whatever goal(s) you decide with signposting to further courses, support or community groups, with Anna our Community Engagement Coach.

 

To join our online sessions you will be happy to be part of a small group and have your camera on. 

 

Criteria

Using our services is free if you are not in work and over 18 years old. If you are working let us know, we don't want to exclude you, we encourage a donation to help us support as many people as possible. Please let us know if you are in work, there is a donate button at the top of each page, thank you.

 

Online sessions  

Please feel free to apply for anything below ensuring you can attend the dates. If you get offered a place and then can NOT attend please let us know, not only is it courteous, but it also helps the coaches and trainers manage their sessions better.

Self Care & Wellbeing - Online

13 December 2023 / 10.30am to 12.00pm

Movement improvement with Fay Durrant, Fay is back after a successful year she's joining us with gentle breathing, stretches, self-massage techniques, plus more to improve your health & happiness. Suitable for all mobilities. Fay learned to manage her own physical and mental health and as a qualified instructor for yoga and Pilates, she shares ideas in a gentle and friendly group. Join Fay every month to receive the greatest benefit from these sessions.

Holiday stress - tools and strategies to get through - online

14 December 2023 / 10.30am to 12.00pm

A welcoming and interactive online session with Maria looking at how we can get through the holiday period. Maria will share self-care tools, information on stress and the brain plus ways we can remain resilient through Christmas period.

Stress Less with Jeremy - Online

31 January 2024 / 12.00pm to 1.30pm

Jeremy Gulvin will be sharing his knowledge and expertise on managing stress. This includes sharing quick tools and activities that you can use straight away. In this upbeat managing stress session we explore - Good stress / bad stress, stress signature, universal factors that lead to stress, and defining resilience.

We offer limited fully funded (free) one-to-one coaching sessions online. If this interests you please complete the form here stating you are interested in the coaching.

Signposting and Community Sessions

Anna, our Community Engagement Coach, offers online follow-up meetings from the sessions above. She also offers fortnightly mindfulness, guidance, coaching, and signposting to local services. To book a meeting with Anna please complete the form here.

 

"I remember very clearly when I first walked into Illuminate's pilot course 14 years ago, I was terrified and very nearly didn't make it! I was lacking in confidence, with low self-esteem and life-limiting anxiety, as I reflect upon my Illuminate journey, an important realisation for me was that 'I am not alone'. Not alone in my lack of confidence or anxieties, it really was a revelation and a relief. So much so and realising the value of coaching to support mental fitness, I qualified as a life coach in 2014 while working on a criminal justice women's project.

 

As an ex-beneficiary and now in my role as Community Coach, I celebrate the courage and resilience that develops when we connect with our beneficiaries through 1:1 and group sessions. Conversations and connection with one another, focused on our beneficiaries' circumstances, goals and aspirations, supports personal growth and development. It is a journey we travel together, empowering beneficiaries to find the confidence they need to move forward positively.
